,,Ideea strălucită a unei fete din Oldham și a uneia dintre colegele ei de la Colegiul Politehnic Nord-Vest pentru Bibliotecari din Londra se dovedește a fi foarte populară în rândul tinerilor din Leicestershire. Sheila M. Richardson în vârstă de 21 ani, șefa de promoție de la Chadderton Grammar School, și prietena ei Jane Brocklesby din Wellington, Shropshire, în prezent sunt instruite în Biblioteca regională Leicestershire. Fetele au conceput o schemă sub forma unui joc educativ pentru copiii din zonele Sileby și Leicester Forest, care să-i încurajeze să ia parte într-o „epopee mini-James Bond” și să devină „Agentul din Leicestershire County Library“. Concursul este organizat de Biblioteca județeană și condus de Sheila și prietena ei și pentru a deveni „Agentul din Leicestershire County Library“ copii trebuie să rezolve diferite teste. Ei vor fi rugați să alcătuiască liste de cărți cu specific tehnic despre judo, înot sau orice alt sport pe care ei îl cred a fi util pentru un agent secret. Ei pot, de asemenea, studia și citi cărți din alte țări pentru informare putându-și crea propria imagine a „agentului 007”. Înainte de Leicester,unde încearcă să formeze propriul ei cerc de spionaj, Sheila a lucrat timp de 12 luni la Oldham`s Central Library. The bright idea of an Oldham girl and one of her colleagues at the North West London Polytechnic College for Librarians is proving very popular with youngsters in Leicestershire. Sheila M. Richardson, 21 year old former head girl at Chadderton Grammar School and her friend Jane Brocklesby of Wellington, Shropshire, are at present being trained in the Leicestershire County Library. The girls have devised a scheme for children in the Sileby and Leicester Forest areas which encourages them to take part in a mini-James Bond epic and become „The Man from LCL” . It is a competition organized by the county library and run by Sheila and her friend and to become „The Man from LCL” children undertake various tests. They will be asked to compile lists of technical training books an judo, swimming or any other sport which they think will be useful to a secret agent. They can also study and read books from other countries for the imaginary briefing of the 007 man. Before going to Leicester to form her own spy ring, Sheila worked for 12 months at Oldham`s Central Library. She then enrolled at the North West London Polytechnic College for Librarians and at the end of year will return to Oldham. We can look forward to having her back in her home town. Suck a lively mind as this can boost a service that is already efficient.

,,Jocul Biblioteca a fost jucat de 371 de copii, de-a lungul celor patru săptămâni ale lunii august, la Alt, Fitton Hill, Limeside și Biblioteca pentru copii Oldham Central, 215 copii reușind să completeze jocul. Dintre aceștia, 22 au fost aleși pentru a primi ca premii vouchere pentru achiziționarea de cărți. Premianții sunt pozați pe treptele bibliotecii centrale, alături de președintele Comitetului pentru Educație Oldham, consilierul JT Hilton. ,,The Library Game was played by 371 children through the first four weeks of August at Alt, Fitton Hill, Limeside and Oldham Central junior libraries, and 215 children completed the game. Of these, 22 entries were chosen to receive a prize of a book token. The prizewinners are pictured on the steps of the central library, being presented with their tokens by the chairman of Oldham Education Committee, Councillor J.T. Hilton. Also present was Mr. J. Carter. The Libraries Director, who is standing on the left of the back row.”
